SMC Corporator dis-allows newly appointed Commissioner in corporate hall for meeting

Srinagar, Mar 08: Newly appointed Srinagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Athar Amir Khan was disallowed on Monday for conducting a meeting which he has scheduled for reviewing the Enforcement Wing of SMC.

Sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the Commissioner along with Joint Commissioner of Administration, Works and Planning, Chief Enforcement officer SMC beside other officials were not allowed to enter in the corporate hall of SMC for conducting the review meeting of the Enforcement wing.

Sources said the newly appointed Commissioner along with the whole staff was not allowed to enter in the corporate hall of SMC by a Councilor namely Danish.

Employees’ of SMC have shown anger against the move of this Councilor and demanded intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.

Confirming this incident Dy. Mayor of SMC Parvaiz Qadri said that it is a very unfortunate incident that a councilor denied the entry of an IAS officer along with other officials in the corporate hall of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.

He said although a communication has already been forwarded to SMC Mayor’s office under no SMC/PS/COM/575-83 dated 6-3 2021 for allowing to attend the meeting in the corporate hall on scheduled date adding that the meeting was cancelled later. kdc
