2 including woman dead, 3 injured in Kupwara road accident

Srinagar: In a tragic road accident two persons including a woman were killed Friday, while three others suffered injuries when a private vehicle they were traveling in collided with a truck in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports said that a private vehicle bearing registration number CH03A-2071 collided with a truck JKO3-8559 near Hatmulla village of the district.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Shabir Ahmad Deedar son of Saifullah Din of Kupwara died on the spot, while four others were critically injured and were shifted to a hospital.

“One among the injured Jana Begam wife of Mohammad Younus Khatana of Ucher Magam Handwara succumbed to the injuries, while she was being treated in the hospital,” the officials added.

Meanwhile, the three injured have been identified as Dawood Ahmad Khtana son of Younus Ahmad Khatana, Ghulam Rasool Khatana, residents of Ucher Magam and Masrat Begum wife of Ashfaq Ahmad of Shatwari Nagrii. They have been shifted to SDH Kupwara for treatment.
