COVID-19: 07 patients die, 455 test positive in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 31: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday recorded seven Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,478 in the Union Territory while 455 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 94,785.

Of the total 94,785 cases, 56,996 are from Kashmir and 37,789 from Jammu division.

Officials said that among 455 new cases, 294 belong to Kashmir division while as 161 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 56,966 including 51,454 recoveries and 983 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 37,789 including 35,434 recoveries and 495 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,419 including 4,559 from Kashmir division and 1,860 from Jammu division.

With 864 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 86,888 which is 91.61 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 124 from Srinagar, 21 from Budgam, 60 from Baramulla, 08 from Pulwama,  41 from Kupwara, 10 from Anantnag, 09 from Bandipora, 16 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 161 from Jammu division include 110 from Jammu, 07 from Rajouri, 07 from Udhampur, 01 from Doda, 08 from Kuthua, 06 from Poonch, 06 from Samba, 06 from Kishtiwar, 06 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, seven persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include five from Kashmir division and two from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include four from Srinagar and one from Pulwama in Kashmir division while as two deaths from Jammu division include two from Jammu district.

As per officials figures, 19,369 positive cases including 357 deaths and 17,551 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,995 including 94 deaths and 5,626 recoveries are from Budgam, 6,006 including 4,470 recoveries and 145 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,656 including 4,378 recoveries and 81 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,460 including 73 deaths and 3,963 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,234 including 3,940 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,040cases including 3,795 and 46 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,549 including 3,312 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,485 including 2,349 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,202 including 2,070 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 17,568 including 16,561 recoveries and 257 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,197 including 3,085 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,707 including 2,557 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,655 including 2,489 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Doda, 2,447 including 2,352 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,253 including 2,021 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,174 including 1,879 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 1,915 including  1,804 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,596 including 1,504 recoveries and 13 deaths are from Ramban and 1,277 including 1,182 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 656,702 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 15,895 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6,419 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 587,737 persons have completed surveillance period and 45,173 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,303,954 samples are available.

Out of 2,303,954 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,209,169  while as 94,785 have tested positive, among them 6,419 are active, 86,888 persons have recovered and 1,478 persons have died.
