COVID-19: 04 patients die, 536 test positive in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 28: Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday recorded four Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,455  in the Union Territory while as 536 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 93,213.

Of the total 93,213 cases, 56,001 are from Kashmir and 37,212 from Jammu division.

Officials said that among 536 new cases, 337 belong to Kashmir division while as 199 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 56,001 including 50,176 recoveries and 968 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 37,212 including 34,606 recoveries and 487 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,976 including 4,857 from Kashmir division and 2,119 from Jammu division.

With 546  more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 84,782 which is 90.95 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 131 from Srinagar, 27 from Budgam, 73 from Baramulla, 12 from Pulwama,  30 from Kupwara, 13 from Anantnag, 12 from Bandipora, 25 from Ganderbal, 06 from Kulgam and 08  from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 199 from Jammu division include 118 from Jammu, 03 from Rajouri, 06 from Udhampur, 04 from Doda, 14 from Kuthua, 05 from Poonch, 12 from Samba,18 from Kishtiwar, 08 from Ramban and 11 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, four persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include one from Kashmir division and three from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one from Srinagar in Kashmir division while as three deaths from Jammu division include two from Jammu district and one from Kuthua.

As per officials figures, 18,977 positive cases including 348 deaths and 16,987 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,926 including 92 deaths and 5,540 recoveries are from Budgam, 5,795 including 4,195 recoveries and 143 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,609 including 4,331 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,350 including 72 deaths and 3,883 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,202 including 3,864 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,006 cases including 3,729 and 46 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,484 including 3,261 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,466 including 2,330 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,186 including 2,065 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 17,240 including 16,126 recoveries and 253 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,182 including 3,050 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,649 including 2,513 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,628 including 2,453 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Doda, 2,410 including 2,330 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,231 including 1,960 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,155 including 1,831 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 1,884 including  1,695 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,575 including 1,501 recoveries and 13 deaths are from Ramban and 1,258 including 1,147 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 652,350 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 16,923 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6,976 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 580,725 persons have completed surveillance period and 46,271 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,238,671 samples are available.

Out of 2,238,671 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,145,458  while as 93,213 have tested positive, among them 6,976 are active, 84,782 persons have recovered and 1,455 persons have died.
