COVID-19: 14 fatalities, 621 fresh positive in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 07: Fourteen Covid-19 infected patients died on Wednesday taking the death toll due to pandemic to 1282 in the Union Territory while as 621 fresh cases tested positive for the dreaded virus pushing the J&K’s tally up to 81097.

Of the total 81,097 cases, 48,588are from Kashmir and 32,509 from Jammu division.

Officials said  that among 621 new cases, 361 belong to Kashmir division while as 260 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 48,588 including 41,553 recoveries and 880 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 32,509 including 26,131 recoveries and 402 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 12,131 including 6,155 from Kashmir division and 5,976 from Jammu division.

With 2,188 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 67,684 which is 83.46 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 143 from Srinagar, 51 from Budgam, 50 from Baramulla, 25 from Pulwama, 18 from Kupwara, 20 from Anantnag, 15 from Bandipora, 22 from Ganderbal, 05 from Kulgam and 12 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 260 from Jammu division include 83 from Jammu, 36 from Rajouri, 10 from Udhampur, 24 from Doda, 10 from Kuthua, 14 from Poonch, 22 from Samba, 10 from Ramban, 21 from Kishtiwar, and 30 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, 14 persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include seven from Kashmir division and seven from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include three from Srinagar, two from Pulwama and one each from Baramulla and Kupwara in Kashmir division while as seven from Jammu division include three from Jammu district, two from Rajouri and one each from Doda and Samba

As per officials figures, 15,978 positive cases including 310 deaths and 13,945 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,211 including 88 deaths and 4,357 recoveries are from Budgam, 4,690 including 3,157 recoveries and 126 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,147 including 3,709 recoveries and 72 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,812 including 70 deaths and 3,076 recoveries are from Kupwara, 3,686 including 3,303 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,628 cases including 3,183 and 40 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,051 including 2,764 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,310 including 2,176 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,075 including 1,883 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 14,861 including 12,657 recoveries and 209 deaths are from Jammu district, 2,887 including 2,333 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,426 including 2,061 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,361 including 1,423 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Doda, 2,175 including 2,034 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Kuthua, 1,910 including 1,043 recoveries and 17 deaths are from Poonch, 1,915 including 1,370 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Samba, 1,422 including 1,288 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Ramban, 1,456 including 1,111 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Kishtiwar and 1,096 including 811 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 605,745 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 25,458 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 12,131 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 518,566 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,308 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,761,792 samples are available.

Out of 1,761,792the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,680,695 while 81,097 have tested positive, among them 12,131 are active, 67,684 persons have recovered and 1,282 persons have died.
