J&K records biggest jump of 1355 in covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, tally rises to 45925

Srinagar, Sept 08): Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday reported 1355 new COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day count so far, taking its tally to 45925. This is for the sixth day in running that the J&K has witnessed cases exceeding one thousand.

Of the total 45,925 cases, 32,722 are from Kashmir and 13,203 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 1,355 new cases, 570 belong to Kashmir division while as 785 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 32,722 including 25,937 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 13,203 including 7,314 recoveries and 113 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 11,859 including 6,083 from Kashmir division and 5,776 from Jammu division.

With 491 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 33,251 which is 72.40 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 210 from Srinagar, 35 from Baramulla, 31 from Pulwama, 94 from Budgam, 44 from Anantnag, 32 from Bandipora, 53 from Kupwara, 10 from Kulgam, 16 from Shopian and 45 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 785 from Jammu division include 483 from Jammu, 55 from Rajouri, 31 from Kuthua, 59 from Udhampur, 20 from Samba, 07 from Ramban, 35 from Doda, 43 from Poonch, 17 from Reasi and 35 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 10,508 positive cases including 242 deaths and 8,831 recoveries are from Srinagar, 3,114 including 107 deaths and 2,384 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,927 including 2,383 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,017 including 2,142 recoveries and 66 deaths are from Budgam, 2,644 including 52 deaths and 2,014 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,427 including 1,696 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,474 cases including 1,668 and 55 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,010 including 1,850 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,772 including 1,613 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Shopian and 1,829 including 1,356 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Ganderbal.

In Jammu division, 6,278 including 2,366 recoveries and 68 deaths are from Jammu district, 1,098 including 822 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Rajouri, 1,122 including 804 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Kuthua, 1,089 including 748 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Udhampur, 870 including 598 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Samba, 710 including 652 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 577 including 385 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Doda, 590 including 384 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Poonch, 479 including 345 recoveries are from Reasi and 390 including 210 recoveries and 01 death are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 491,348 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 38,659 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 11,859 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 383,440 persons have completed surveillance period and 56,575 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,107,406 samples are available.

Out of 1,107,406 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,061,481 while 45,925 have tested positive, among them 11,859 are active and 33,251 persons have recovered
