Car bomb explosion targets Afghan Commando’s compound, 4 person dead

Kabul, August 25: At least four people, including one security forces member, were killed on Tuesday in a car bomb explosion that targeted a compound of Afghan commandos in the northern province of Balkh, Tolo news reported. 

A small truck loaded with explosives was detonated in Balkh district, almost 20 kilometers northwest of Mazar-e-Sharif city, the center of Balkh province, the report said,

Houses near the Afghan National Army’s commando unit headquarters were heavily damaged in the explosion and officials said that over 30 people were wounded, including six security force members, the report added.

The toll of civilian casualties is currently three dead and 24 wounded, officials said.

Earlier, sources at Abu Ali Sina Hospital in Balkh said they received three bodies and 26 wounded after the explosion.
