LG Murmu visits house of slain BJP leader in Bandipora, hands 20 lakh rupees to Bari’s kins

Bandipora, July 14: New Delhi controlled Jammu Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Tuesday visited the residence of BJP slain leader Sheikh Waseem Bari here in North Kashmir’s Bandipora distirct.

Sources said that Lieutenant Governor G.C. Marmu was accompanied by Advisor Baseer Ahmed Khan, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang Pole and Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar.

Pertinently, militants last week gunned down three persons affiliated with BJP. They included Sheikh Waseem Bari, his father Sheikh Bashir Ahmed and brother Sheikh Umar.

Sources said that Lieutenant Governor went by chopper that landed on BSF Helipad at Har Mader where from he reached Muslimabad Bandipora through a motorcade.

G.C Murmu interacted with family members and expressed grief over the killing of Sheikh Waseem Bari, his father Sheikh Bashir Ahmed and brother Sheikh Umar.

The LG administration assured all possible help to bereaved family according to news agency KNT.

Goverenment press release stated that Lt Governor handed over the financial assistance of Rs 20 Lakhs to the Next of Kin (NoK) of the deceased and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of the victims.

The Lt Governor strongly condemned the killings and said that the perpetrators of this dastardly act of violence would be brought to justice.

   Such heinous act is an attempt to spread fear, and there can be no justification for such attacks, he added.
