Two militant killed as Tral gunfight enters second day, internet suspended

Pulwama, June 26: One more militant has been killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and government forces in Chewa Ullar area of Tral in South kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday evening taking the toll of killed militants to 02.

An official said that two militants have been killed in an exchange of fire that started on Thursday evening while as operation is on in the area.

An official on Thursday evening said that a joint team of Police, army’s 42 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.

Pertinently this is 12th encounter in South kashmir in month of June in which so far 32 militants have been Killed.

Meanwhile as a precautionary measure internet services have been snapped in PD Awantipora—(KNO)
