Indo-Pak armies trade gunfire along LoC in Uri

Baramulla, June 12: The armies of India and Pakistan on Friday morning exchanged gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector, officials said.

Officials said that Pakistan Army on Friday morning  resorted to unprovoked shelling along the LoC in Northern Kashmir’s Uri sector in Baramulla district.

“Pakistani Army used heavy morter shelling and targeted check posts in Hajipeer sector and other posts in Baramulla district on Friday morning,” they said, adding that Indian Army retaliated beffitingly.

The exchange of gunfire was going on when the report was last filed.

However, panic gripped among nearby villagers due to border shelling.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Abdul Qayoom said that shelling is going on in four villages of Uri including Churanda, Hathlanga, Gowhalan and Hajipeer.

However, no report about injuries or casulities was reported so far—(KNO)
