Srinagar: Two militants were killed in a gunfight that erupted in the wee hours on Tuesday between militants and government forces at Saimoh in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A police spokesman through a Twitter post said that two militants were killed in the gunfight which broke out this morning.

The operation began after a joint team of Awantipora Police, Army’s 42 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation after getting specific information about presence of militants in the area.

Meanwhile, authorities have snapped internet in the area, reports said.
