Hurriyat (M) condemns civilian killing in Budgam, demands punishment to perpetrators

Srinagar, May 14: Hurriyat (M) on Thursday expressed deep grief and sorrow over what it described as the “cold blooded murder of 24 year old civilian” who was shot dead by CRPF personnel in Narbal.

According to statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Hurriyat (M) condemned the act and said the details of the killing where the youth was shot at point blank range in his car and his uncle traveling with him severely injured is chilling and inhuman to say the least. It said that for the past thirty years Kashmir keeps witnessing such brutality from time to time with no accountability.

Hurriyat (M) said at a time when the entire world is grappling with the Corona virus pandemic for the people of Kashmir the pandemic is only an addition to the already existing uncertainty and fear that people are subjected to live under for the past decades.

It also said that leadership is under arrest while thousands of youth and Kashmiris from various walks of life are languishing in jails, local media is functioning under tremendous pressure and there is a repeated internet and communication gag, Hurriyat M added.

Hurriyat (M) demanded that the perpetrators of this brutal crime should be held accountable and punished. It also condemned the use of force on people protesting this gruesome killing. (KNS)
