Six Afghan forces personnel die in Taliban attack

Kabul, May 11: About six security personnel died and five more were injured in a Taliban attack in the eastern province of Laghman, the Afghan Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Monday.

In an official statement here, the Ministry said that clashes between Afghan security forces and the Taliban started on Sunday night, when the latter attacked a security checkpoint at Alishing district of Laghman province.

Taliban had sustained ‘heavy casualties’ during the clashes, due to which it had to beat a hasty retreat.
