Srinagar, April 28: The United States Commision on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has come heavily on India and recommended India as a country of ‘particular concern’ as far as religious freedom is concerned.
USCIRF has put Indian in the countries of particular concern after the year 2004
The USCIRF while sharing its annual report of 2020 stated that miliions of muslims in India were potentially exposed to detentions, deportations and statelessness due to Citizineship Amendment Act (CAA)
“The Citizenship (Amendment) Act in #India “potentially exposes millions of Muslims to detention, deportation, and statelessness when the government completes its planned nationwide National Register of Citizens” USCIRF Vice Chair,“USCIRF tweeted.
Other than India, USCIRF recommended Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Vietnam as countries of of Particular Concern in its USCIRF Annual Report 2020.
