Srinagar: A policeman was killed after fired upon by suspected militants at his residence in Hiller Shahabad area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday.

A police officer a local news agency that the militants opened fire upon the policeman namely Manzoor Ahmad Dar at Hiller village at late night. “He was at home when the attack took place,” he said.

“He was removed to nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries,” police said.

He said that police team has been rushed to the spot and further investigations are going on. (GNS)
