Two dead, five injured in Ramban road accident

Srinagar: Two persons died and at least five others were injured in a road accident in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, police said.

An official said that a Ramban-bound dumper (tipper) rolled down from the Karol-Kumet link road near Jaiswal bridge and plunged into Chenab.

Soon after the accident, a rescue operation was launched by the Ramban QRT, police and the locals.

Station House Officer Ramban Vijay Kotwal confirmed the death of two persons. He said five persons, including the driver of the vehicle, were injured who were shifted to district hospital Ramban for treatment.
