Four Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind militants killed in Shopian gunfight

Srinagar: At least four militants of Ansar Gazwatul Hind (AGH) were killed during a brief exchange of fire with government forces in Daramdora village located on South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday morning.

Witnesses said the brief gunfight broke out after a joint team of 44 Rashtriya Rifles and special operations group (SOG) of imamashab Shopian camp launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Daramdora keegam area of Shopain district.

As the forces zeroed towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces, triggering an brief exchange of firing in  which four militants were killed.

A police official confirmed that four militants were killed in the gunfight that broke out before dawn and said searches were underway in the area.

Militants during the encounter identified as Showkat Ahmad Resident Of Chandpora Rajpora Aazad Molvi Resident Of Bamnoo Rafeeq Ahmad Resident Of Kralchak And Suhail Ahmad Resident Of Batamuran.

Meanwhile complete shutdown was observed  in Shopian and  the Internet service was also suspended in the district.
