Jammu: Full body truck scanner will soon be installed at Trade Felicitation Centre, Chakkan-da-Bagh in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Director Industries and Commerce Jammu, Anoo Malhotra on Thursday conducted tour of District Poonch and inspected the facilities at the Trade Facilitation Centre at Chakkan-Da- Bagh.
She also held a meeting with the cross LOC traders.
The Director besides, inspected the construction work of full body truck scanner being installed at the Trade Facilitation Centre and also paid a visit to the Immigration Centre.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs in April has suspended cross LoC trade at Salamabad and Chakan-da-bagh in the state pending putting into place of a stricter regulatory regime.
The trade was suspended to ensure that only bonafide trade takes place for the benefit of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through this mechanism.
The order further reads that the central government had received reports that cross-LoC trade routes in Jammu and Kashmir are being misused by some Pakistan based elements.
She also reviewed the functioning of District Industries Centre, Poonch where she directed the staff to be responsive to the aspirations of public and conduct awareness camps for educating the public about various Schemes of Government for setting up Industry.
Director also highlighted the fact that under the new Industrial Policy Service sector has also been placed at equal pedestal in terms of incentives by the Government and sought investment in Hotels and CA Stores/Cold Stores.
