New Delhi: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2019, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said.
The move is aimed as relief for persons in J and K residing in areas adjoining the International Border. Mr Javadekar told mediapersons after the cabinet meeting.
They can now avail reservation in direct recruitment, promotion and admission in different professional courses.
The Bill will be introduced in both Houses of Parliament in the forthcoming session.
