Kashmir Chamber urges govt to provide job to widow of deceased tourist guide

Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday paid tributes Rouf Ahmad Dar, Tourist Guide, who lost his life while saving capsized tourists in Pahalgam.

The president of KCC&I Sheikh Ashiq, in a statement, stated that Dar had managed to save several precious lives before he lost his own.

He said that while the administration’s prompt response in recommending bravery award and financial support was highly appreciable, the KCC&I would urge for providing the widow of Dar with a permanent Government job. He stated that the KCC&I Relief Trust would also be taking cognizance of the matter and provide required assistance in this regard.

“Adventure tourism had its perils and it was always important to follow proper safety procedures and guidelines while carrying out activities which could endanger human lives,” he said in the statement.
