Srinagar: In the wake of outstanding performance of his party in the Parliamentary polls, Awami Itehad Party (AIP) Chief Engineer Rashid said that his party is ready for assembly elections and people will choose candidates to contest on party ticket.

“We are prepared for assembly elections. People will nominate candidates to contest on AIP ticket. Those parties and politicians need to make preparations for assembly elections who criticised us during Parliamentary polls,” AIP Chief Rasheed told reporters in Handwara.

Rasheed met workers in Handwara and Langate to thank them for their support and voting during the Parliamentary elections.

He said that people in north Kashmir supported and voted for him because AIP stands for resolution of Kashmir through right to self determination.

He said that Kashmir issue needs resolution as every day graves of youth are filled and mother’s have to mourn every day.

“To stop all this bloodshed, Kashmir issue needs resolution through right to self determination and people support AIP for this issue,” he said
