Srinagar: Protests erupted in Pulwama town of south Kashmir on Thursday with people demanding stern punishment to the killers of an active militant’s brother, whose body was found in Tahab area earlier today.

The slain was identified as Zahoor  Ahmad Sheikh (25) Son of Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh and according to his family and locals he was killed allegedly by government forces.

People marched with the body towards Deputy Commissioner’s office seeking punishment to those who killed Zahoor in what they termed as cold-blooded murder. The bullet-riddled body of Zahoor was recovered from an orchard near a school in Tahab.

“He was returning from Masjid and called us that army has cordoned off the village. Later some gunshots were heard,” they said, adding today morning his body was recovered.

The slain is brother of an active militant of Hizbul Mujahideen.

Police has registered a case and launched investigation.
