India-Pakistan armies exchange cross border mortar shells, fire, porter injured

Rajouri: Armies of India and Pakistan on Sunday trade fresh exchange of shelling in Rajouri and Poonch districts of J&K.

An army officer said that at about 1100 hours, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with artillery and firing with small arms along LoC in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch and in Keri sector of Rajouri.

Meanwhile, an army porter was injured in Pakistani shelling at Keri sector area of Rajouri .

A police officer said that the army porter Mohammad Mahroof son of Makhan Mohammad a resident of Challas village received critical splinter injuries after Pakistan army attacked Indian army posts in the area.

The injured porter was shifted to nearby hospital where from he was referred to Army command hospital for treatment.
