Inspite of harassment Hurriyat will continue seeking resolution of Kashmir issue: Mirwaiz

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday flew to New Delhi to present himself before the NIA investigators in an alleged terror funding case.

Mirwaiz is accompanied by senior Hurriyat leaders, Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone and Masroor Abbas Ansari.

The resistance leader had cited security reasons for inability to travel to Delhi and asked the NIA to question him in Srinagar.

On Friday, the third NIA summon served him specified that the security concerns of Mirwaiz would be taken care of by the NIA in Delhi.

The decision to appear before the NIA was taken by the Mirwaiz on Sunday following an executive meeting of the Hurriyat group.

After landing in Delhi, Mirwaiz tweeted: “In Delhi today with my colleagues for the NIA summon ,efforts to malign leadership for its political stand wont work. Inspite of harassment #Hurriyat will continue to seek peaceful resolution of the #Kashmir issue,urge people back home to stay calm and peaceful.”
