Four more youth arrested during pre-dawn raids in south Kashmir’s Shopian

Srinagar: Government forces in the pre-dawn hours on Thursday arrested four more persons in Vehil and Choudrigund villages of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

The arrested persons have been identified as Anayat Ullah Malik son of Mohammad Syed Malik, Tanveer Ahmad Wagay son of Gh. Hussain Wagay, Sajad Ahmad Khan son of Abdul Hamid Khan, all residents of Vehil and Muzafar Ahmad Mir son of Gh. Hassan Mir of Choudrigund village.

Reports quoting a police official said that all the detainees were being lodged at police station Shopian. He, however, did not divulge the reason behind their detention.

On Wednesday night, five persons were picked by the forces from Vehil and Nowgam villages of the district.

The detentions were made after police arrested a local resident of Vehil village near Jawahar tunnel in connection with a blast case in Banihal.
