Jammu: A girl has succumbed to injuries after she suffered injuries in cross Line of Control exchange of gunfire between India and Pakistan armies in Poonch district on Monday. Besides the deceased ten persons including five forces personnel and five civilians have been injured. 

Sources said that five civilians sustained injuries in Mendhar, Shahapur, Kirni and Bandi villages of Poonch. “Five forces personnel have also received injuries, they said, in Ceasefire Violation by Pakistan in Krishna Ghati sector of Mendhar in Poonch district.”

Exchange of fire and mortar shells started Monday morning and was going on when reports last came in. Deputy commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav, confirmed the death of the girl. “Five civilians besides the deceased are injured,” he said.(KNO)
