Srinagar: Four militants have been killed and three army personnel injured in an encounter that raged between government forces and militants in Lassipora area of Pulwama Monday morning.

An official confirmed said that four militants have been killed, however, the identification of the slain is yet to being ascertained. 

The gunfight broke out after a joint team of army’s 44RR, paramilitary CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched cordon and search operation in Lassipora area of Pulwama after inputs about presence of militants in the area.

As forces approached the suspected spot, the militants fired upon them triggering a gunfight.
