Srinagar: An army soldier was abducted by unknown gunmen at Qazipora village in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday late evening.

A police officer told that soon after receiving the information about the abduction of the army man namely Mohammad Yaseen of Jakli unit from his home at Qazipora late this evening, a joint team of police and army has rushed to the spot to ascertain the details.

Sources said that the soldier was abducted by suspected militants.

Meanwhile, a massive search operation was launched in Qaipora, Chadoora and borders of neighboring Pulwama district. (gns)
