Saudi Arabia appoints Kashmiri origin man as Imam of Masjid-e-Nabwi

Srinagar: A Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK) origin man, Qari Sheikh Mohammad Bin Khaleel, has been appointed as the Imam of Masjid-e-Nabwi by the government of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi King and Khadmain Harmain Salman Bin Abdul Aziz made his appointment, reports stated

According to the reports, Qari’s family lived 21 kilometers away from Muzaffarabad at the gateway of famous tourist hill station Neelam Valley, in Pateka area of PaK.

In 1962, the family of Imam shifted to Saudi Arabia for seeking education and work.

Qari Sheikh Mohammad is the son of the known Qari Khaleelur Rahman who is a celebrated Qur’aan teacher and whose students include the likes of Sheikh Muhammad Ayyoub.

The Imam was born in 1975 in Mecca Saudia Arabia and memorised Quran there only. Later he went to Madina University for seeking more education.

Following the decision of Saudi government to appoint Qari as Imam, entire PaK has erupted in happiness.

“There can be no honor bigger than becoming Imam of Masjid-e-Nabvi,” a resident of Muzaffrabad told a TV reporter.

“This is the ultimate achievement a man can ask for in his life time. It is a moment of real proud”.

The residents of Pateka too are joyous after they had come to know that Qari has become Imam of Masjid Nabwi.

The residents said despite living in Saudi, Qari never forgot his roots- his native village. They said he sent funds to built the local Jamia Masjid.

The Qari will lead three times prayers at Masjid-e-Nabvi each day.

Earlier, the Qari was into the news after he led Trawai Prayers at the Masjid-e-Nabwi.
