Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) leader Bilal Lone Wednesday renamed his faction of Peoples Conference to Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Independent Movement.

The name change, he said, was made to “end any confusion in taking forward his father’s legacy”.

Addressing a press conference in Srinagar along with Hurriyat Conference (M) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Bilal said he will “permanently stay in pro-freedom politics” because that is “the right path” and “the true legacy of his late father Abdul Gani Lone”.
