North Kashmir’s Baramulla shuts for 2nd consecutive day against militant killings

Srinagar: Baramulla district in north Kashmir is observing a complete shutdown for the second consecutive day Friday to protest and mourn the recent militant killings.

Witnesses said that all shops and business establishments are shut in the town while public transport is mostly off the roads.

Authorities have deployed government forces in strength in the district to stop pro-freedom and anti-India protests.

Thee Lashkar militants were killed on Wednesday in the outskirts of Baramulla district in a gunfight with government forces.

The slain, all residents of north Kashmir, were identified as Suhaib Farooq Akhoon, son of  Farooq Ahmad Akhoon, a resident of Khanpora Baramulla; Mohsin Mushtaq Bhat, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Qazi Hamam Baramulla; Nasir Ahmad Darzi, son of Mohammad Amin Darzi, a resident of Sangrampora Batpora Sopore, at present in Jamia Qadeem Baramulla.
