Srinagar: Principal District and Sessions judge Anantnag, Syed Towqeer Ahmad has applied for the voluntary retirement.

Ahmad has put forward family compulsions as a reason to apply for the voluntary retirement. However, his application has not yet been accepted.

But, sources also say that he might contest elections on National Conference ticket likely from Kokernag constituency.

Earlier, IAS topper, Shah Faesal has resigned from his services and decided to join the politics.
