Srinagar: A militant has been killed in a brief shootout with government forces in Pulwama village of south Kashmir.

Reports said that the militant fired upon an army patrolling party of 55 RR at Choudribagh Litter area of Pulwama. The attack was repulsed by the government forces and a militant was killed.

The identity of the militant is being ascertained. The government forces have cordoned the area.

Meanwhile authorities have suspended the mobile internet services in the area.
