Jammu and Kashmir Police arrest Yasin Malik from Srinagar

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairperson Muhammad Yasin Malik Thursday.

A JKLF spokesman said that a police party raided the Abi Guzar office of Malik and detained him. “Malik sahib was taken to Kothi Bagh police station,” he said.

Pertinently, the JRL, of which Malik is a part, has asked people to observe January 4 Friday as Youm-e-Taqaddus in the backdrop of desecration of Jamia Masjid by some masked youth last Friday.

Some masked youth desecrated the mosque last Friday after congregational prayers. They waved IS flags and raised pro-IS slogans at the pulpit of the mosque. The incident led to widespread condemnations.
