Amid gunfight, clashes at several places in Tral township, army resort to aerial firing

Srinagar: Several civilians have suffered injuries in clashes with government forces in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district Thursday morning.

Violent clashes erupted in several areas of the township including the main town soon after a gunfight broke out between the militants and the forces in Gulshanpora area.

Reports said that forces fired pellets on the protesters in Batagund village of the township, resulting into pellet injuries to some civilians.

They said that government forces restored to aerial firing during violent stone pelting clashes with civilian protesters in main bus stand.

Witnesses said that the clashes erupted in the town after a gunfight erupted between the government forces and militants in Gulshanpora village of the township.
