Srinagar: Government forces on Sunday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla .

Official sources said that following specific information about presence of militants at village Tujjar in Sopore, a joint search operation was launched by Special Operations Group (SOG) of state police, Army and CRPF in the area.

Officials sources also said that house-to-house search was going on in the village.

“Adjoining fields and orchards were also being thoroughly checked,” they said, adding so far no contact was established with militants.
