Srinagar:The deputy commissioner Srinagar Syed Abid Rasheed Shah Saturday cautioned people against walking or playing on the frozen parts of Dal Lake.

Shah requested the people to desist from such actions. “It is dangerous and potentially life-threatening.”

Kashmir valley reels under a cold wave since the beginning of Chillai e Kalan, the harshest forty days of winter”. The temperatures have plummeted several notches below the freezing point leading to the freezing of certain parts of Dal Lake.
