Poonch Accident: FIR against private telecom company for negligence

Jammu:  A case against a private telecom company for negligence was registered in connection with the Poonch incident in which 14 persons were killed and 13 injured, police said on Sunday.

‘Country’s one of the prominent telecom service provider has been booked for negligence as the roadside digging to lay OFC line was not properly filled after the task, which led to accident,’ police said.

The contractors and the engineers of the company, dug the mud along the road towards river side and after laying the OFC, they filled it in casual manner, police further said.

‘On the fateful day, when the bus passed from that area, the dug portion caved in and the bus ferrying nearly 30 passengers on way from Loran to Poonch skidded off and plunged into a gorge near Palera,’police said.

A case of negligence has been registered under sections 279, 109and 336 of RPC against the telecom company for further action, police added.
