Srinagar: A newlywed couple was killed in a road accident in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Friday, official sources said on Friday.

Official sources said that a couple, which entered into a wedlock just a week ago, was riding a motorcycle when they were hit by a vehicle in Pattan in Baramulla today. “The duo was critically injured in the accident,” they said.

The injured twosome were rushed to Sub District Hospital Pattan, where they declared as brought dead.

After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives for last rites. “Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” officials added.
