3 inter-state drug peddlers arrested with heroin worth Rs 1 crore

Jammu: Police arrested three inter-state drug peddlers with heroin worth Rs one crore and a cash in Gandhi Nagar area here.

Police on Thursday evening laid a surprise ‘naka’ at Valmiki Chowk in Gandhi Nagar and intercepted a car for frisking.

“During the checking of the vehicle, one-kg heroin was recovered from the possession of the driver identified as Sohail Ahmed of Halwaie, Brijbehara, Kashmir,” police said here on Friday.

They said two more occupants in the car, identified as Ali Mohammad alias Ishaq of Karalpora, Kupwara and Pardeep Kumar of Rawastar, Hanuman Garh, Rajasthan, presently living in Ludhiana, were frisked and Rs 13 lakh cash was recovered from their possession.

A case under relevant sections was registered and investigation started.
