Jammu: Police have arrested three persons for violence in Rajdhani village of Thanamandi tehsil in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP), Rajouri Yugal Manhas said that incident took place on Saturday night when some persons, including a contesting sarpanch candidate who got defeated , entered inside the house of another defeated candidate and beat up the family members and also damaged the household items including furniture alleging conspiracy for defeat.

Upon this a complaint was lodged into matter by the complainant family, he said.

The SSP added that complainant family members stated involvement of about a dozen assailants in the incident in which four to five family member got injured.

Soon after receiving the complaint, a police case was registered and raids were conducted during three accused persons were nabbed.

Arrested persons were identified as Manzoor Hussain, Maqsood Hussain and Ibrar Ahmed, residents of Rajdhani village while search of other accused is going on who will also be arrested soon, he said.
