Second militant slain in Budgam gunfight in central Kashmir identified

Srinagar: The second militant slain in Chattergam gunfight along with LeT commander Naveed Jatt on Wednesday has been identified.

Reports said that the slain has been identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Khan alias Maroof and Kaleemullah, a resident of New colony Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Mehraj, according to reports, was an overground worker of the militants and had reportedly fled away from a police station in Sopore on October 5, 2018, just four days after his arrest.

Reports said that his body has been handed over to his family.

Meanwhile, all the educational institutions of Sopore Sub-division will remain closed as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order problem following the killing of Mehraj ul Din Sofi alias Marouf.

Officials said that all the educational institutions in Sopore Subdivision will be closed on Thursday.
