Kashmir: Shopian abducted civilian shot at, injured; shifted to Srinagar hospital

Srinagar: The civilian who was abducted by militants late Monday evening has been shot and injured, reports said on Tuesday.

The civilian was abducted fro Wanpora village of Shopian in south Kashmir last evening.

The abducted youth identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Wani a driver by profession was abducted around 7:30 pm from his village in Wanpora Shopian.

Sources said that the civilian was released by the militants in injured condition as he was hit by a bullet in his leg.

“He was spotted by locals in injured condition in wee hours today at Batamurran village,” sources said and added that he has been rushed to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for treatment.

Seven persons were abducted from last week and two of them killed by militants allegedly for tipping of government forces about militants. Of them, five were released.
