Gowhar’s Killing: What happened to the inquiry, asks Mirwaiz

Srinagar: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday paid tributes to slain youth, Gowhar Nazir, who was killed three years ago at HMT on city outskirts by government forces.

Mirwaiz stated that the inquiry ordered into his killings faded away with time as its fate hangs in balance.

“Today is the 3rd martyrdom anniversary of engineering student Gowhar Nazir Dar shot at from a point blank range by the forces (three years ago). Although a magisterial inquiry was ordered but as always its report was never made public nor did the police after registering an FIR produce the charge sheet in the court. Thus the killers are roaming free to continue their killing spree. This is the tragedy of Kashmir!” Mirwaiz wrote on twitter.

Gowhar an engineering student at Sir Syed Memorial College of Engineering and Technology Parishaspora. He was killed the day when Prime Minister Narendera Modi was on Kashmir visit.
