South Kashmir: Clashes erupt in Tral village following cordon and search operation

Srinagar: Intense clashes broke out in Tral area of southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday after government forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) to nab the militants after they attacked an army camp.

Reports said that dozens of people mostly youth took to streets and pelted rocks on the government forces after special operations group (SOG) of police and army laid a siege around Chankitar village of Mandoora, Tral.

“The government forces used tear gas shells and pellets to disperse the protesters.”

The clashes were going on when this report was being filed.
