Top LeT commander among two foreign militants slain in Sopore gunfight

Srinagar: The two militants killed in gunfight with government forces in Pazalpora village of Sopore in northern Kashmir have been identified as Abu Muaaz and Zubair alias Ali Bhai.

Police sources confirmed the identification and said that the duo was laid to rest at Rajwar in Handwara.

Muaaz, they said, was one of the longest surviving militant commanders who carried a bounty of 8 lakh on his head.

“The slain commander featured in the list of top ten militants which was released by police after abductions of police officers in south Kashmir,” sources said.
