Will engage 11000 youth in Home Department: Rajnath in Srinagar

Srinagar:  Home Minister Rajnath Singh said Tuesday that talks and “terror” cannot go together and blaming neighbouring country Pakistan for “terrorism in India”.

Singh was addressing a press conference in Srinagar after his daylong visit to the valley.

The home minister said that government wants to engage with the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and will adjust 11000 youth in home department. “2.5 lakh youth also will be engaged in central government sponsored schemes,” he said.

Appealing the PDP and NC to participate in upcoming Panchayat polls, Singh said: “I congratulate those who took part in urban local body elections. I appeal people to particulate in the panchayat polls.”

National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party have boycotted the urban local bodies polls in Jammu and Kashmir.

The home minister said that those who don’t believe in democracy are not well-wishers of Jammu and Kashmir. “In last 4 months, stone pelting has decreased in Kashmir as also the recruitment of the militants.”
