JRL sit-in: After reaching Lalchowk police arrest Malik

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik from Kokar Bazar in Srinagar to foil his march to Lal Chowk against fresh killing spree.

The call for the protest march was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership, of which Malik is a part.

Malik, according to his activists evaded arrest at his Maisuma residence and was detained by police outside Masjid-e-Ameer Hamza of Koker Bazaar

The other top resistance leaders including Syed Ali Geelani, who continues to be under house detention since 2010, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai have been place under house detention.
