Srinagar: At least two army soldiers were injured after militants mounted an attack  during a cordon and search operations (CASO) in southern district of  Kulgam district on Sunday.

According to the offical sources, the forces were launching CASO in Laroo village, located close to the Kulgam town, following the information about the presence of militants in the area.

As the forces started CASO, they came in contact with the militants hiding in a house.

Suddenly, militiants mounted an attack after firing on forces, triggering a gunfight in which two soldiers were wounded.

The militants managed to escape from the house where they were trapped, sources said

The CASO was underway till last reports came in.

The injured armymen were removed to the hospital for treatment.
