Reports say three militants killed in Kulgam gunfight

Srinagar: According to the reports pouring in from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, three militants have been killed during a gunfight with the government forces.

Earlier,  two army soldiers were injured after militants mounted an attack  during a cordon and search operations (CASO) in southern district of  Kulgam district on Sunday.

According to the official sources, the forces were launching CASO in Laroo village, located close to the Kulgam town, following the information about the presence of militants in the area.

As the forces started CASO, they came in contact with the militants hiding in a house.

Suddenly, militiants mounted an attack after firing on forces, triggering a gunfight in which two soldiers were wounded.

Later the militants, believed to be in three in number fled to the fields where the exchange of fire was going on.
